District234 is an African-led culture platform documenting Nigerian music, internet moments, fashion and lifestyle at the centre of global youth culture.

We write from inside the scene, for the people shaping it and the people paying attention. We exist to record culture as it actually moves: on timelines, in clubs, at shows, in studios, in group chats, and across cities.

Most coverage of Nigerian music tells you what happened. We are interested in what it means. Diagnosis over description. Signals over noise. Patterns over hype. Futures over headlines.

District does not ask whether Nigerian culture can travel. We analyse how it already does.

How we work

We speak with sincerity and transparency. We write like real people telling real stories, in plain English, carrying the wit and rhythm of Nigerian youth culture.

We do not run press releases as journalism. We do not publish claims we cannot justify. We do not attribute motivations to artists without evidence, and a label’s framing is not automatically ours. If a fact cannot be verified, it does not enter the story as fact.

We assume you are fluent. We are not here to explain African culture to outsiders.
